It’s so good to meet you!
Past
After graduating from Miami University with a degree in Professional Writing and Sustainability, I moved to Tennessee to work at a Christian nonprofit called Mountain T.O.P. At that organization, I oversaw volunteer logistics, program assessment, and spiritual life programming. It was the role that inspired me to pursue a theological education. I recently graduated from Vanderbilt Divinity School with a Master of Theological Studies. I credit my work with Mountain T.O.P. as the place where my passion for spiritual formation took root.
Present
Currently, I serve as the Pastor of Spiritual Formation at Belle Meade United Methodist Church in Nashville. I work to connect with folks who worship online, lead an online small group, write liturgy, preach occasionally, and assist with congregational events. I am also back working with Mountain T.O.P. serving as the Director of Formation and Impact. In my new role, I oversee spiritual life programming and lead retreats.
Additionally, I am discerning a call to ministry in the United Methodist Church as a deacon. I’ve recently become a certified candidate! A deacon’s call includes word, service, compassion, and justice. They are called to connect the church and the world. A deacon is a door opener who reminds us of our responsibility to bring people in and that we are called to go out.
I care about helping people create the space in their lives to listen to God, helping people find the deeper place within themselves, and helping people make that connection between contemplation and action. I am not an expert in any of these things—we’re on this journey together. It’s simply the way of life to which I feel deeply committed.
Future
I am currently scheduling retreats for 2024. Check out the Upcoming Events page for events already on my calendar.
Do you have a group that would benefit from a retreat? I’m happy to travel to you. This group could be a Sunday school class or small group, a faith community you belong to, a group of clergy/pastors, your fellow co-workers, or simply a group of friends. The location and timeframe are all flexible.
